Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove his Chevrolet into victory lane Sunday at Michigan International Speedway. This victory comes almost 4 years to the day since his last win. The win and the bonus points for leading the most laps has put him only 4 points behind overall points leader Matt Kenseth as they head to Sonoma this weekend.
Jr. had gone 143 races without a win. To date he has 100 top 5 finishes and 173 top tens. He has been so close so many times and this weekend finally closed the deal. This gave Hendrick Motorsports their 203rd Sprint Cup Victory.
