Keeping the Bottom End Tight

The GEN5 Camaro chassis design incorporates a front and rear sub-frame, mounted to a stamped steel unibody. This design suffers from some body flex. GM engineers tried to minimize this chassis flex with a stamped steel, under body brace. This OE piece leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks to the guys at Elite Engineering USA there is a solution to the weak factory under body brace.  Elite manufacturers a one-piece billet aluminum brace for the GEN5 Camaro.  This piece adds stiffness and rigidity to the chassis and allows clearance for 3” exhaust pipes.

The OE tunnel brace is weak and in effective in reducing chassis flex. It also interferes with aftermarket 3” exhaust pipes.

These pictures show the difference in the deflection between the OE and Elite Engineering braces.

Installation is simple. The brace bolts in using the factory mounting holes.  It comes in a nice, black anodized finish to prevent corrosion.
